Deterritorialization concerns loosening the bonds that stabilize an arrangement through habits, codes, or relations. It is not restricted to geographical movement: practices can transform while people remain in place.
Anti-Oedipus investigates capitalism through labour and money flows released from earlier ties. This does not produce unlimited freedom; flows can be bound to new calculations and controls. Reterritorialization consequently accompanies the concept.
A Thousand Plateaus follows these movements across arrangements and scales. A communication tool may disrupt an established speaking order while new rules constrain the possibilities it opens. Transformations differ in direction and pace.
The concept should identify the particular bond transformed and the new constraints established. This also keeps it from replacing the specific lived and historical dimensions of migration with a general label.
