Concept description

Agencement names a relational arrangement in which heterogeneous elements function together. Bodies, tools, statements, and rules do more than form a list: their relations alter capacities. Assemblage and düzenleme are contextual translations of this operation.

A classroom includes seating, procedures for speaking, materials, and assessment as well as people. Together these shape possible actions and expressions beyond any individual intention.

A Thousand Plateaus connects material arrangements with enunciation without reducing either to the other. Arrangements have consistency while remaining open to transformation. The concept is neither a fixed structure nor an assertion that everything connects indiscriminately.

Guattari’s institutional research provides an independent point of entry. An institution’s official designation may differ from its everyday organization, which can be investigated through practices, statements, and tools.
